用POP3连接Domino时报错

请问各位这个是什么原因？

Problem
You are using a POP3 client that has APOP enabled. Domino does not support APOP. When you attempt to connect to a Domino 6.x server, authentication fails and the connection is dropped. This behavior does not occur if you connect to a Domino 5.x server. Why does 5.x allow the connection and 6.x and later versions of Domino do not?

Solution
In Domino 5.x, if a POP3 client issues an APOP command, the 5.x Domino server will fall back to using name/pass authentication. A Domino 6.x server, however, accepts the APOP greeting but drops the connection because it does not know how to handle APOP requests.


This issue was reported to Quality Engineering and the functionality has been changed in Domino 6.5.5 and 7.0.

POP3 Mail Server
SPR# MPUL6C3MEQ - Changed the POP3 greeting to not include the timestamp field indicating that APOP authentication is available. Since some POP3 clients fail to fall back to user/pass authentication when APOP fails, the APOP style greeting could cause some clients to fail to authenticate. By not sending the timestamp, POP3 clients should now try only the name/pass method of authentication. This regression was introduced in 6.0.
